We always enjoy highlighting the websites that we create for our clients and our pro bono clients are no exception! Each year, Hammersmith Support brings on two pro bono clients to support for a year. We showed off our work with our Arizona pro bono client, Bista ACCEL, a few weeks ago, and now we’re excited to present Waves, Inc., our Tennessee pro bono client.
We want to thank Staci Davis of Waves, Inc. for sharing about the organization and what a new website will mean for their nonprofit.
Tell Us about Waves, Inc.
“Waves is a nonprofit in Middle TN supporting children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our mission is to empower each person supported to progress toward their full potential. Waves has been serving the Middle TN area for 50 years. Founded in 1973, Waves began when the standard of care was institutionalization for adults with disabilities. Waves was created because a group of families felt they could provide a better quality of life for their loved ones. Today, Waves is still providing services and helping those supported live as independently as possible. Waves provides developmental therapy to children with developmental delays/disabilities below the age of five. Waves still operates the original day program with a second location. In addition, adults are able to receive residential support, employment support, and community integration.”
What Issues Was Your Website Having?
“We sought support from Hammersmith Support because our site lacked vision and coherence. Our website needed guidance and finetuning to better tell our story and show our impact on the community we support. As we celebrate our 50th anniversary, it’s nice that our website will reflect our organization better.”
What Were Your Goals for the Website Rebuild?
“The goals for our site rebuild were to better share the mission of Waves while showing the impact we make on a daily basis. Our team wanted to be able to share the services we have available to the community and invite them to be part of the mission, whether that’s through receiving services, volunteering, or donating to our organization.”
What Is Your Best Advice for Other Organizations Thinking about Rebuilding Their Website?
“The best advice I have for other organizations wanting to rebuild their site is to partner with Hammersmith Support. Rebuilding a site is daunting. It’s a lot of work. The team at Hammersmith Support makes the process more manageable through smaller tasks. They are the best at project management and will keep you on track. We would not have been able to rebuild our site without their guidance and expertise.”
